So excited to be moving home. I miss everyone so much. I keep talking about moving "home" and Shane reminds me that this is our home, and I tell him no, this was our home until we decided to move back home. Looking at land for sale in Julian, and picking out a house plan ( http://www.thehousedesigners.com/plan_details.asp?plannum=6001&reverse=False ) and deciding what kind of trees we want. I've cast my vote for every kind of fruit tree, plus berry bushes and an awesome oak tree for a tree house. I know we've got high hopes, but we're going to figure it out and it's going to be amazing! Especially since we're making sure to include an awesome library for me! I'm super excited, Shane's already spoiling me with books to start it with. Also we're hoping to be started building in the next year, but we'll see. We're going to have a great opportunity to save while we're living at his dad's since we won't be paying rent. Especially if Shane gets into the police academy. Cross your fingers for us.

As soon as she could she got on dry land.

We had a lot of fun. We went to the lake, went and saw the art in downtown Mesa and of course had lunch at Cracker Barrel. Mom and Tom got to meet Shane's mom briefly. She was sick so wasn't able to go to lunch with us, but Shane insisted that they meet, so that was nice. And mom took boudoir photos for me. Can't wait to see the results!! Shane put in for a transfer to San Diego, so even if he doesn't get into the police academy we'll hopefully still be moving back. Although of course it would be much better if he got into the academy. Our lease doesn't expire until June, but you never know, we might just be staying instead of just visiting for my birthday. Crossing my fingers cause I miss everyone, but trying not to get my hopes up too much (too late). Love and miss you all!!!!!!

The Easter bunny came!!

Shane hunting for easter eggs. He admits that it was fun even though apparently I'm not that great a hider. I told him that next year he could do it then

We decided to shave the puppy. It's been getting hotter so this way she'll be cooler. She was crying and whining like it was such torture until I got her a rawhide stick. I held it while she happily chewed away ignoring the razor entirely. She's such a drama queen.

We went to Shane's mom's house for Easter dinner. It was nice, otherwise we just sat around and ate candy. Which was nice cause it felt like a real day off for me. Lately even on my days off we've been out doing other things, which is fun but I feel like I haven't rested in weeks. Mom and Tom are coming in 10 days! I'm so excited. I miss everyone

We dyed Easter eggs!!
The pets are wearing the stickers that came with the dye pack. Sami's lasted about 5 minutes while Leia's was on for quite a while longer. Possibly a demonstration of intelligence.

The finished product

Sami found a comfy place to sleep. About a minute later she leaned too far back and fell off the counter. I thought I was going to die laughing.

Shane bought an inflatable boat and today we spent the day out on the river.

prepping the night before

We took the puppy and she wasn't loving being in the boat. She spent most of the trip in my lap.

Getting ready to leave

It was a beautiful day. We were on the river for about 6 hours. It was much further than we knew because by the end the sun had almost set and it was much colder. Especially since we were wet and in bathing suits. It was about a 10 mile trip. The store didn't sell boat oars (weird right?) so were used bamboo. It actually worked fairly well. There were a few issues though.

We had a ton of fun. (we're looking directly into the sun. Hence the squint)

Shane fished some. Unfortunately there weren't very many good fishing areas. The boat trips and the fishing trips need to be two separate trips.

This is the other place where she slept. I'm not sure why but she was comfy there. And it was nice for me since I wanted to be up looking around and stuff. I think she just really didn't like sitting in the water that had collected in the boat.
